What do you think you can use as confetti?

The daily battle to get up early and work out, shower, eat breakfast, and maybe read in peace before all the kids get up and out of bed begins. I used to be a morning person and I was great at getting showered every day (with two kids). I’m not sure if it was because of a global pandemic or the amount of kids but showering is a challenge these days. Yes I’ll raise my hand for the it’s day 3 and my dark hair is showing grease. So dry shampoo is forever on my countertop. I’m also the mom that it’s summer so the ball cap is on. Doesn’t come off. You know you have to get your hair in the hat and then do the bun after so it’s the right height. (going to invest in a ponytail hat one day). If it’s winter the toque is always ready!

So this day I didn’t get up early. My normal routine for this is we get through the morning. You know the school drops off the back home for snacks and a small activity then lunch all in a span of 2 hours. 2 hours, just realized I feed 2 humans 2 meals (snack counts as a meal for a toddler I’d say) and try to do an activity with them it’s an accomplishment.

Lunchtime is over and the youngest is down for nap time. The Moose is not down for a nap as he just causes too much commotion for the littlest one to sleep. TV is to the rescue today as I just needed to shower. For his mothers peace of mind, I put him in my room to watch his favourite show because it takes longer to get to the front door from here. Perfect shower time is one I have 15-30 min to maximize the use of getting a shower and ready for the day before the kid loses interest.

The shower was wonderful at this point I’m guessing because what happens next takes over my memory. I’m walking into my room after the shower to find my son. “Surprise MOM!” Definitely surprised as he throws the most creative confetti up into the air. The confetti was an entire box of Q-tips. I will say easier to clean up. Still everywhere and was finding it that night as we climbed into bed. It was in my bed. In my pillow case and on the floor. Down the top of the bed between the headboard to in between the sheets. I told him that it was definitely a surprise and that next time maybe not do to.
